Rhea Chakraborty Gets Bail In Drugs Case, No Reprieve For Brother Showik

Actor Rhea Chakraborty gets bail with conditions around a month after his arrest in the Sushant Singh Rajput case on drugs related charges. His brother Shovik, however, has not been denied any kind by the Bombay High Court.
Another court extended his judicial custody till 20 October yesterday.
Riya Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde said, "We are happy with the order. Truth and justice have prevailed and finally the presentations on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal."
Riya Chakraborty has been asked to collect ₹ 1 lakh daily and mark her presence at the nearest police station for 10 days after her release. He must also handover his passport and cannot travel abroad without the permission of the court.
"Rhea's arrest and detention were completely unfair and beyond the reach of the law. Hounding and witch-hunting by three central agencies, the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau, should end. We are committed to the truth. Satyamev Jayate , ”Said Mr. Maneshinde.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on 8 September on charges of organizing drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput, a popular film star, who was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on 14 June.
He was charged with being "an active member of his drugs syndicate" and financing the drugs used by Sushant Singh Rajput, his lover.
In her plea, Riya Chakraborty said that she and her brother were simultaneously targets of witch-hunt by several agencies, who had not found any evidence in the case.
He had alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput "took advantage of those closest to him to maintain his drug habit" and tried to get rid of him. She also said that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and her family left her at the peak of her depression. His mental health "deteriorated during the lockdown", claiming that the deaths of actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor also had a tremendous impact on him.
Sushant Singh "was extremely happy after being offered ₹ 14 crore for a film", said Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea, alleging that the actor was upset over the rift with his family, especially his father Was.
Rhea Chakraborty also argued that the charges against her were very serious compared to the amount of drugs involved. She accused the Drugs Investigation Agency of false narratives that she was involved in trafficking illegal drugs and "harboring criminals".
The CBI is investigating the circumstances of Sushant Singh Rajput's death and the Enforcement Directorate is looking into the financial allegations leveled by the actor's father.
