With Over 77,000 Covid Cases, India Sees Record One-Day Rise

India has once again recorded a daily increase in coronavirus cases with 77,266 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total count to 33,87,500, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health this morning.
An additional 1,057 new deaths brought the total death toll to 61,529.
India has the third-highest number of virus infections in the world after the United States and Brazil.
25,83,948 patients have recovered from infection in the country, while the recovery rate is 76.27 percent. Maharashtra remains the most difficult state with 7,33,568 cases in the epidemic.
The coronavirus epidemic has killed more than 8.31 million people worldwide since it emerged in China at the end of last year. More than 24.4 million people have been infected with the novel coronavirus.
America is by far the toughest country in the world in both cases and deaths. According to Johns Hopkins University real-time tracker, the nation passed a severe milestone of 1,80,000 coronavirus deaths on Thursday.
