“Foundation of New India”: Preparation for Yogi Adityanath Ayodhya program

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the COVID-19 protocol will be strictly followed during the "Bhoomi Pujan" ceremony for the Ram temple in Ayodhya and only invitees should come.


The chief minister, who was in the city to oversee the preparations for the August 5 event, said it was a "historical and emotional" moment that would "lay the foundation for a new India".


He also targeted the Congress, saying that those who are making negative comments on this incident, have tried to create obstacles in the construction of Ayodhya Ram temple and the people of the country know about them.

"It is not only a historic, but also an emotional moment as the work of the Ram temple will begin after 500 years. It will be the foundation of a new India.

According to the temple trust, around 200 people have been invited for the ceremony.

The Chief Minister urged people to light earthen lamps, decorate temples and recite the Ramayana in memory of "those who died in the temple struggle".

He said that for those who are willing to go to Ayodhya, arrangements will be made to bring people from every district.

The Chief Minister reached Ayodhya in the afternoon and visited the Ram Janmabhoomi site where Bhoomi Pujan is to be performed.

He also followed the Ramlala (statue of Lord Rama as an infant), visited the Hanuman Garhi temple, and gave directions to senior officials there, where the main event is to be held.

A senior official said that Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avnish Kumar Awasthi, Ayodhya District Collector Anuj Kumar Jha and DIG Deepak Kumar are also with the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister was scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Sunday, but it was canceled due to the death of Minister of State Kamala Rani Varun, who contracted COVID-19.
