CBI to conduct "psychological autopsy" in Sushant Rajput case: Source
New Delhi:
The CBI will conduct a psychological autopsy of Sushant Singh Rajput, sources said late Monday, as the Central Investigation Agency continues its Supreme Court compulsory investigation into the circumstances behind the popular actor's death.
The practice, conducted by the Central Investigation Agency's CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory), will include a detailed study of every aspect of Mr. Rajput's life - from posts on social media to WhatsApp chats and interactions with families, friends and others.
The CBI will look to get information about the actor's mood, behavior patterns and even personal identity as it tries to make a holistic picture of his mental state in the days leading up to his death.
This will be, sources said, the post mortem of the mind of 34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead at his Mumbai residence in June.
This would be only the third time that such a complex investigative method is employed; The other two examples were in the Sunanda Pushkar case and the bizarre Burari mass suicide case in Delhi two years ago.
Meanwhile, the forensic team, a four-member team of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), will investigate the autopsy report of Mr. Rajput after the CBI approached the hospital for help in the case.
A special CBI team has camped in Mumbai since Friday after the Supreme Court last week ordered the case to be handled. The team is drawn from the agency's crack investigation unit - the same one who is looking into Vijay Mallya's case.
On Sunday, Mr. Rajput, and a friend of his friend Siddharth Pathani - both key witnesses in the case - were questioned. Staff member Neeraj was called for the third consecutive day.
A self-proclaimed actor who discovered the body of Mr. Rajput is believed to have been taken to the actor's home in Bandra area of Mumbai, a day earlier, by the CFSL team to recreate the day of the events. His death.
Riya Chakraborty, alleged girlfriend of Mr. Rajput, is yet to be called for questioning by the CBI. Ms. Chakraborty has been accused by the actor's family of mentally harassing her and illegally transferring crores of rupees from her Mumbai bank account.
Ms. Chakraborty, who initially sought a CBI probe before telling the Supreme Court that the central agency had no jurisdiction at this time, was accused of financial fraud and suicide by kidnapping filed by the actor's father at Patna's railway station. Is the case.
He has already been questioned twice by the Enforcement Directorate, which is probing "suspicious transactions" related to the transfer of approximately ₹ 15 crore from Mr. Rajput's account.
Ms. Chakraborty has denied all the allegations.
The Mumbai Police said Sushant Rajput died by suicide, but the charges leveled against Ms. Chakraborty created a political storm as police forces from Bihar and Maharashtra were facing off in a jurisdiction battle.
According to doctors, police in Mumbai said that the actor was taking medication for bipolar disorder.
The Supreme Court said last week that the CBI would take over all the investigations into the Sushant Singh Rajput case, stating that "fair investigation is the need of the hour".
The actor's death left thousands of his fans in shock and sparked widespread speculation, controversies and conspiracy theories, as well as igniting a debate on cut-off rivalry in Bollywood.
